Ching Ming Festival

To most Ching Ming send an eeerie feeling to them. The thoughts of skipping around in the old traditonal cementary as not to step onto anything that is their boarder is quite a kungfu. Nowadays, newer cemetary are systematically layout. Good signboard and walking path.

Why do we called it Ching Ming Festival. It is one of chinese festival of course. So be merry and cheerful on that day.

We have to go to Ipoh for this festival. Shoot down right after work on Saturday and stay at one of our close relative home. Wake up early like preparing for a morning run. Still dark when we reached the event place. This event was held in a groundnut town, that's menglembu. This year we enter through the main entrance as previously we snoop in from another side path.

At first glance of this photo, what came into your mind?

It is the well. As according to the old folks there this well is a hundred years old. The exterior had been repaired a few times. But a look into the well, you noticed it is indeed a very old well. The wall lining and the type of bricks used not seen before.

This year the place is exceptionally cleaned and tidy. All those at the event do not show any tearful expression and all really cheerful. So they say, you cheerful, ancestors cheerful and you will be bless with goodness. All those present on this eventful day do not show any tearful expression. You cheerful, ancestors cheerful ain't this a good sign.

Next stop is Sam Poh Tong. A popuplar place I think most of you all knows. The famous pamelo stalls at the entrance. In the old days the Ah-so and Ah-pak will man the business. Now young, beautiful salesgirl will jump out once a car stop beside the stalls to lure customers in. Further down half km is the Kuan-Yin temple. A cool, clean, quiet place for a stroll.

OK jobs done, what to do next, of course eat eat eat.

Found this shop in an alley right in front of Kong Heng Coffee Shop somewhere centre of Ipoh old town. Food is good? no comment. 6 dishes, 8 hungry piranha and it cost RM75. Slurp..
